SUBJECT: 75 Morton PTA Newsletter - 9/23/22

Well Summer is OFFICIALLY over!  Even though New York's weather begs to differ! Yesterday started the first day of fall - however it is not decorative gourd season in our homes until at least October 1st!

Thank you to everyone who attended our first HYBRID PTA meeting of the year!  We did it.  Don't worry we won't being doing that again anytime soon!  Zoom PTA meetings moving forward.  And congrats to all of the new members of the Executive Board and SLT.

Florin Dorobantu (Treasurer)

Yodit Walker (EB Member at Large)

Lilibeth Feliciano (EB Member at Large)

Jordan Wright (SLT Incoming 6th grade parent)

We had 2 amazing days spent at Govenors Island with the 7th & 8th grades (6th Grade rain date is Friday, September 30th) and a huge shout out goes to all of the families who chaperoned!

Make sure you MARK YOUR CALENDARS & / or subscribe to the Morton Calendar here

For anyone that wasn't able to attend Wednesdays' PTA meeting, Principal Valerie's Principal Report Notes can be found here.  We also heard from Principal Valerie about welcoming about 100 migrant students to 75 Morton as we are a "Safe Haven" school for any and all that seek asylum, safety and support.  Our community will need to come together to help welcome our newest members of 75 Morton.  More details on how we can specifically help will be coming soon.

In the meantime, enjoy the long holiday weekend with Monday and Tuesday off, so you are ready to come back and put on your volunteer hats.

Make a Donation to 75 Morton Today!

NYC’s DOE Budget does not cover 100% of the school’s operating budget. Through contributions from our families, the PTA raises and funds the portion of the budget that helps set our school apart from others. And we need your help, now more than ever, to ensure we rebuild the breadth of enrichment programs, activities, resources and equipment that creates for our kids the magical experience of our amazing school.

A monetary donation is the easiest and most direct way to contribute to the school. Please click here and give as generously as you are able. Any amount you give will be gratefully received.
