SUBJECT: 75 Morton PTA Newsletter - 9/30/22

Short week but packed with the 6th graders' Govenors Island trip, a Morton Middle School tour to potential incoming 6th graders for 2023 and a brisk change in our morning commuting weather!

A HUGE Magical Morton Happy Birthday shout out to co-PTA President Corinne!  Hope you had a nice day off this week! If you see her in the halls next week give her a wave.

We welcomed 10 new students to our school this past week and will continue to welcome and support more families, seeking asylum, to 75 Morton in the weeks to come.  We will be hosting a Community Hospitality Closet drive very soon once we know what our communities' needs will be.  More details on how you can specifically help will be coming soon.

Make sure you MARK YOUR CALENDARS & / or subscribe to the Morton Calendar here.

Make a Donation to 75 Morton Today!

NYC’s DOE Budget does not cover 100% of the school’s operating budget. Through contributions from our families, the PTA raises and funds the portion of the budget that helps set our school apart from others. And we need your help, now more than ever, to ensure we rebuild the breadth of enrichment programs, activities, resources and equipment that creates for our kids the magical experience of our amazing school.

A monetary donation is the easiest and most direct way to contribute to the school. Please click here and give as generously as you are able. Any amount you give will be gratefully received.

COMMUNITY CORNER
Horatio Park
SAVE HORATIO PARK

Save Seravalli Playground (aka, Horatio Park)!

Our beloved playground is about to be lost forever to pickleball if

we don’t do something now. If you want to keep Seravalli Playground as an open, multi-use space and not have it converted to single-use space for pickleball, attend the Parks & Waterfront meeting at Community Board 2 on October 17th Register in advance.

We need a large showing of community support, or Seravalli will be gone forever. Let your voices, and those of your children, be heard. Yes, the meeting is open to kids.
