SUBJECT: 75 Morton PTA Newsletter - 10/7/22

Happy Friday Families,

Hope you all have had a moment to enjoy the warm, sunny weather we've been having after so many rainy days.

We continue to welcome new students to our school and prepare for many more to join our Morton community.  Next week we will be hosting a Community Hospitality Closet drive.  See details below as to how you can help.

This newsletter is a bit more dense with lots of upcoming events and a bunch of ways you all can get involved and volunteer.  It takes a village...

Make sure you MARK YOUR CALENDARS & / or subscribe to the Morton Calendar here.

COMMUNITY CORNER
Horatio Park
SAVE HORATIO PARK

Save Seravalli Playground (aka, Horatio Park)!

Our beloved playground is about to be lost forever to pickleball if we don’t do something now. If you want to keep Seravalli Playground as an open, multi-use space and not have it converted to single-use space for pickleball, attend the Parks & Waterfront meeting at Community Board 2 on October 17th Register in advance.

We need a large showing of community support, or Seravalli will be gone forever. Let your voices, and those of your children, be heard. Yes, the meeting is open to kids.

PARKS & WATERFRONT Rich Caccappolo, Chair

Mon., 10/17 @ 6:00 PM – Meeting Access via Videoconference

If you can't attend please consider showing your support by signing and distributing this petition.

Make a Donation to 75 Morton Today!

NYC’s DOE Budget does not cover 100% of the school’s operating budget. Through contributions from our families, the PTA raises and funds the portion of the budget that helps set our school apart from others. And we need your help, now more than ever, to ensure we rebuild the breadth of enrichment programs, activities, resources and equipment that creates for our kids the magical experience of our amazing school.

A monetary donation is the easiest and most direct way to contribute to the school. Please click here and give as generously as you are able. Any amount you give will be gratefully received.

PTA Meeting 10/19 @ 9:30am

Please join us at Octobers PTA meeting.  This meeting and all moving forward for the year will be on Zoom only.
