Additional emergency blue cards weredistributed to students who have not turned them in yet. Please check your student's backpack this week. Blue cards must be turned in to your child's 1st period teacher or the main office by Monday, October 7th. It's important that the school has a blue card for your child. In the event of an emergency, the school needs to be able to contact you or your designees.
High School Resources for 8th Grade Families See below under Other Important Announcements for some resources and information about the high school admissions process.
Out-Lunch for 6th graders and new sign-ups begins on Monday, October 7th. Please see the Out-Lunch section below for more important information.
Time to Mix & Mingle! Our first adult-only social event will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd from 6-8pm at Brass Monkey. See below for more details. Click HERE to purchase a ticket or sponsor a teacher.
75 Morton will be celebrating Family Science Day at the New York Botanical Garden on Saturday, October 26th. This event is FREE and there will be bus transportation from 75 Morton. See below for more details. Space is limited so RSVP today.

| | Donate Today! We need your help to raise money to help pay for things that the DOE does not provide for like professional development, supplies and more. The easiest way to support the school is through our direct appeal campaign. We are asking families to consider donating $750 per student, but any amount, big or small is greatly appreciated. | | Fright Night (for 6th Graders) Wednesday, October 23, 6-7:30pm | Cafeteria It's a dance. It's a costume party. It's a frightfully fun time! The Fright Night Committee is looking for chaperones, bakers, "bouncers", decorators and more. Please click HEREto volunteer.
Do you have Halloween costumes and props that you aren't using this year? Donate middle-school sized costumes and appropriate props to the party! A donation box will be in the Morton Street vestibule at drop-off each morning beginning on October 15th.

Volunteer for the School Library Our beautiful library is opening for students on October 7th. We are looking for volunteers to help for 1-2 hour shifts during the day. | | The One Run Sunday, October 20, 9am Get your running shoes ready and join us for one of our favorite FUN-raisers, The One Run. Help raise money for 75 Morton. Run or walk, your choice. For more details and to register, go to The1Run.com. Last year our school raised almost $2100. Bring the whole family - all ages are welcome to sign up and run (or walk) in support of 75 Morton.
Mix & Mingle at Brass Monkey Tuesday, October 22, 6-8pm Grown-ups this one is for you! Come mix and mingle with fellow 75 Morton parents/guardians and teachers/staff at Brass Monkey (55 Little West 12th Street). This adult-only community event is a great way to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. Open bar and light bites. Tickets are $25 each ($30 cash at the door.). Click HERE for the flyer. Urban Advantage Family Science Day Saturday, October 26 | New York Botanical Garden Please join the 75 Morton community for a FREE family trip to the New York Botanical Garden! A school bus will be leaving 75 Morton at 10:00am and depart from the Gardens back to 75 Morton at 2:00pm. Students must be accompanied by an adult and can bring additional family members. You may want to pack a lunch to enjoy at the Garden's picnic tables. RSVP by completing this FORM. Space is limited, please RSVP as soon as possible. | | Out-Lunch Update Out-lunch for 6th graders will begin on Monday, October 7 on an A/B schedule. Group A Classes: 610, 611, 612, 613, 630, 631
Mondays, Tuesdays, and alternate Fridays beginning October 18. Group B Classes: 620, 621, 622, 623, 632 Wednesdays, Thursdays and alternate Fridays beginning October 11. No ID Card? No Out-Lunch - Your child must have his/her ID to go to out-lunch. Need a replacement? See below "Lost IDs". No Changes to A/B Groups - There will no switching of students' lunch groups (from A to B or B to A). If your child has friends in the other lunch group, they can stay in the building and eat with them in the cafeteria. |

| | Lost IDs Your student must go to the main office and put their name in the binder that is labelled "Lost ID Cards". New ID cards are printed on Wednesdays and Fridays. Depending on when your child writes their name in the book, they may need to wait a couple of days for a new one. The fee for a new ID card is $5. No ID card? No out-lunch. We have delicious free lunch options in the cafeteria! |

| | High School Resources for 8th Grade Families The 75 Morton website contains important dates and resources to help families with the high school admission process. Click HERE for the latest updates. If you haven't already, be sure to check the DOE page on the High School admissions process which includes a calendar of all the tours. As you tour high schools, don't forget to get a "late pass" from the high school you are visiting. Students should bring in their forms to Melissa in the main office. |
