SUBJECT: 75 Morton PTA Summer Newsletter #1

Hello 75 Morton Community, Families and Friends!

Welcome incoming 6th graders and new families and all of our returning students and families!

We hope this first newsletter of 2022-2023 finds you well.

As this year's PTA Presidents we are very excited for this upcoming year and are planning for a more "normal" school year. That means more in-person events and opportunities for families to be more involved and be in the school.  We also plan to use the tools that we gained from our remote experience by continuing to host meetings and informational sessions virtually through Zoom.

The PTA newsletter contains a lot of information that you will need in preparation for the fall and throughout the year. Please take a moment to read it every week.

In the meantime we ask you to do the following to get ready for this year:

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL | THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

And don't worry! As we get closer to the first day of school more details will be communicated.  Feel free to reach out at any point - we are here to help! pta@75morton.org

Remember to bookmark this page for the latest updates from the DOE and the 2022-2023 DOE calendar.

Stay tuned for more! An email from our afterschool program, Manhattan Youth, will be going out from Cynthia De Leon this week.

School IDs

For returning students:

Make sure you locate your students' school ID from last year so they can use it for this upcoming year.

If the majority of 7th and 8th graders have their IDs by the start of the year it will allow the "Out Lunch" privilege to begin earlier for these grades.

School Supplies

Order Now for Delivery Before First Day of School

For your convenience, 75 Morton teachers have already started ordering all of your students' school supplies they will need for the entirety of the 2022-2023 school year.

This year students only need to show up with a backpack and a pencil case. Yahoo! Pencils, notebooks, folders and erasers will all be distributed to each student the first week of school.

Pay for your students' school suppliesHERE. You will be directed to our school Family Portal, Membership Toolkit, to create an account or log into your existing account (returning families). From there you will be directed to purchase your students' school supplies.

School supplies are $75 per student.

Please consider sponsoring another student so that everyone will be ready with their supplies the first day back! Sliding scale is also available for families who are experiencing financial difficulties.

Membership Toolkit Account

As we look forward to this year, all NEW & returning parents need to have an account in Membership Toolkit (the PTA portal) in order to view their student's class assignment in the fall. If you don't already have an account, please take a moment to create one:
